ONE HOSTAGE REMAINS
Skylark West released
At almost noon today, the one of the remaining two hostages hobbled out of the UNO. After having one of his legs thrown out of a university window, Skylark West, a double amputee, was remarkably cheerful for the situation. While bruised and battered, he stated "it could have been worse", and that at least he was stuck hostage with a friend. That friend, Nathan Evans, remains in the compound with the self-titled Mr. Madness.
Skylark states that "everyone's favorite madman" was restless and irritable, often shouting at them to move desks and other furniture back and forth for no particular reason, even when West was missing a limb. West states that this only made his captor angry, despite having ripped off the prosthetic and thrown it out the window himself after West allegedly 'whispered too loudly'. Several hours that the incident police negotiated West's release, fearing for his life has he was struggling in meeting his captors demands.
Military snipers have been unable to get a shot at the suspect, who is rumoured to be a former special operations solider for the US military. His motive, other than that of some sort of revenge on the campus, remains unclear, even at this late stage.
