BREAKING NEWS:
Ardirwen Bell released
Mr. Madness, as he now demands to be called, is slowly giving up his hostages to police. From three, now only to remain. Miss. Ardirwen Bell was rushed out of the University of New Orleans at about three this morning after more bargaining attempts several of which went sour to the point police pondered storming the institute.
Bell was released nearly 24 hours after the standoff began. She suffered several cuts and bruises, but seems otherwise okay. She stated that her time held hostage "was the most terrifying moment of [her] life. [They] had to do whatever he said, whenever." She states that they were ordered to rummage for food, and spent hours locked in a maintenance room. Bell states that Mr. Madness was getting irritable and short-tempered with them, and pleads that he will release the two remaining hostages. She also states that she "got off lucky", as Mr. Madness focused more on the two boys, both drama majors, particularly Nathan Evans.
Police are still negotiating, and have stopped several would-be civilian heroes from entering the building, stating that he is armed, confirmed by Bell's statements.
Approximately ten minutes ago, a prosthetic leg was thrown from one of the campus windows. Police are not sure what this means for hostage Skylark West, who is the owner of the implement.
