BREAKING NEWS:
Hostage Situation Stabilized
Three Hostages Remain
After hours of bargaining with police, all hostages but three have been released from the UNO, which remains evacuated for safety reasons. Approximately 12 hostages were released, all with either minor or no wounds. No one needed to be hospitalized, and police state that "this went better than we were expecting, but it is not over yet". The three hostages still held are all students in either their junior or senior year at the university. The students are: Ardirwen Bell, Nathan Evans, and Skylark West. It is unclear what condition any of them are in at this point, only that all three have been threatened numerous times, Evans appearing momentarily in a window with a bloodied forehead.
We will keep you updated as the situation progresses. Police do believe "Mr. Madness" to have a former military background.
The university also wishes to state, that due to the circumstances, all exams and projects due in the coming week will be postponed indefinitely - and for once, students want these due dates to return, as a sign that perhaps this standoff and weeks of fear are about to end.
