Wednesday, June 30th Brutal Attack Leaves Campus Stunned
It was six days ago that a University of New Orleans professor was assaulted, and ten days before this a student returning from work was also attacked.
Since then, several small scale acts of vandalism and robbery have been commented on the university campus, earning the suspect, who remains at large, a tag of "Mr. Madness".
This suspect has now moved from the assault threshold to the attempted murder one. The following incident has been recreated through police investigation and a witness report. Remy Clark was walking on campus grounds, around the back of the girls dormitories at around 7 AM this morning. The suspect had obtained control of a small vehicle or ATV, and used it to ram Clark down. Clark was apparently conscious after the incident, as she managed to drag herself some distance before collapsing as the suspect got out of the vehicle. The suspect pursued and attacked her once more, armed with either a knife or similar instrument. At this point, one of her friends, Dexter Willow found her. He had "intended to meet her before class" and thus chanced upon the scene. The suspect made to attack Willow, but instead fled the scene in the vehicle he arrived in. When paramedics arrived, Clark was unconscious.
Clark is hospitalized for multiple lacerations and other injuries pertaining to the attack, the extent of which is only known in the hospital's comment of that "she is in critical condition, but if [Clark] survived the day, she will likely make a full recovery."
The suspect is considered extremely dangerous. The description of the vehicle at this point is very rough : yellow, small, and likely dented and bloodmarked in the front. Call authorities immediately if spotted - do not approach.
