SECRETS: she hates herself, she hasn’t talked to her family since she was sixteen, and to most it's a secret she's a boy.
PERSONALITY:Blaire is a very moody person. Her attitude can do a completely one eighty from one simple change on his atmosphere or who she is around. She is very aware of her surroundings and will notice the smallest change in them. Depending on that change she might get a happier attitude or something much less pleasant. Blaire’s mood swings can often be dangerous to those who don’t know her well and she can come across as intimidating because of it. Not imposing-intimidating but mentally unstable intimidating. But don’t let your first impression of Blaire get you fooled.
There are times when Blaire can be really sweet
She is quite empathetic, and can easily sympathize with people. While she can be very spiteful, Blaire is a kind hearted person. She doesn’t mind taking her time to listen to you, and is a good person to go to for comfort. Blaire’s compassion makes her a good friend to have, and her experience has no doubt made her this way.
Blaire might be friendly and talkative one second but someone might walk in and she could turn one of two extremes, introverted or angry. Certain people, mainly ones she finds intimidating or she feels judge her will make her close up instantly. She is terrified of being thought of negatively for being transgendered. She reacts to negativity in one of two ways: introversion or anger.
She can be quite sassy at times. When you catch Blaire in a good enough mood, she is quite the little imp. She can be very playful when she wants to be, joking around and is on the spirited side. Blaire is playfully rude when she is in this kind of mood, never being serious but acting impudent just to be silly.
Blaire’s anger can be shown in many ways but the most common of them is spite. She can be very crude with her sarcasm and creative with her spiteful ways. She will do little things to piss you off ad leave it at that. Blaire might also react with sudden irritation similar to someone having a very bad day. She can also be very aggressive though she isn’t very strong. Generally Blaire isn’t much of a fighter but when it comes to her sister and closest friends, she will kill for them. She never hits back when it is about her but she will beat down anyone who dares to hurt her loved ones.
These are the most common of Blaire’s moods though others can show themselves as well. Jealousy is one she tries to hide but it’s there. She is especially jealous in relationships. She is not in it for sex, Blaire wants emotional attachment. She actually isn’t a very sexual person. She tends to get possessive of her dates because of her insecurities. She worries a lot about people hating her, so when she finds someone willing to be with her she wants to keep them even if it’s not a working relationship.
Blaire’s jealousy and possessive tendencies strongly reflect how self conscious she is. Blaire is not happy with who she is right now, and is rather depressed when it comes to her image. She knows she is living in the wrong body, and this has done a number to her self esteem. There isn’t much about herself that she currently likes, and worries about the smallest of details. She hates her body, and can’t wait to get surgery.
On a happier note, Blaire is also quite innovative when it comes to her clothes. Since she doesn’t have the money for the chic clothes she would live to wear, she spends a lot of time turning second hand clothes into pieces worthy to wear. It’s become more than just a hobby for her, and is something that keeps her happy when she’s down the most. Fashion is definitely her calling with how easily she can whip an outfit together out of the crappiest of clothes, though she can’t afford school.
In some attempts to make up for how ugly she feels, Blaire tends to over work herself. It works as a distraction from her depression, keeping herself busy and her mind off of her flaws. She tends to overdo herself when it comes to her jobs. Blaire wants to make money for school and for her surgery, and often gets carried away. She is a hard worker, that’s for damn sure, and she has no plans on giving up her goals.[/blockquote] [/blockquote]
TO BECOME WHAT I BECOME

I VIEWED THE SUN FOR THE VERY LAST TIME
MOTHER: Ilsa Prudence Valdez, 42, author
FATHER: Dennis Peter Valdez, 49, pediatrician
SIBLINGS:Felicity Samantha Valdez, 18, student.
OTHER IMPORTANT PEOPLE: Priscilla, one, Chihuahua.
ORIGIN: New Orleans, Louisiana.
HISTORY:There was nothing Ilsa and Dennis Valdez wanted more in the world than a baby boy, so of course when they had their first child, a boy, they were thrilled. That wouldn’t last for long though. For the first year of Benjamin’s life he was a spoiled little boy, and when his sister Felicity was born a year after him, she would be spoiled too. For the first few years of his life, Benji and his sister Felicity got along very well, but when he was five they “stopped being friends”. See, Benjamin kept stealing Felicity’s clothes and toys. Dennis and Ilsa thought it was a phase, that he was just jealous of her, but it was a common occurrence in their house.
Benjamin’s parents hoped their son would grow out of his need for his sister’s stuff. They hoped he would stop trying to go to school in Felicity’s dresses. But it took years before it ended. Benji continuously refuses the toys his parents bought for him, and took much more of an interest anything Felicity got. It caused a lot of fighting among the siblings, since it was Felicity’s stuff and not his. By the time Benji was nine, old enough to understand the difference between gender association, Dennis and Ilsa had had enough. This had to stop! It had developed from a phase to a problem, one they were bent on fixing. While they had played along with Benji’s need for girl’s clothes and girl’s toys for the first few years, they started refusing him. He was a boy, he was going to be wearing boy’s clothes.
At ten years old Benji started telling his parents they were wrong. He wasn’t a boy, they were lying to him. He understood the differences in the genders, and he understood that, yes, physically he was a boy, but he wasn’t at the same time. Deep down he was a girl, he knew it. This didn’t sit well with his parents, not in the slightest. He was not a girl. He was their son. His parents were rather closed minded when it came to sexuality and race. They were prejudiced. Felicity, on the other hand, was supportive of her brother. She started to believe what he was saying, and started to try and understand him. Hell, she even started helping him prove his point to their parents.
When Benjamin started reaching his teenage years and entered high school he started refusing hair cuts and wearing make up. With Felicity’s help, he would leave the house in the clothes his parents bought him, but arriving at school in outfits he borrowed from Felicity. It’s safe to say that most of his peers didn’t see Benji the way his sister did. When he started calling himself Blaire and dressing like a girl to school, he started getting into a lot of fights. Felicity usually ended up defending Benji, and would back up whatever excuse he made for coming home with a black eye.
He was sixteen when his parents found out the truth behind coming home beat up. They were furious that he had been doing this, and saw him as a disgrace. It didn’t help that they had also caught him making out with a boy, something else they weren’t too pleased about. Benjamin was kicked out of his parents’ house, and started going by Blaire permanently. He was able to live with his boyfriend at the time for a few weeks, but when Blaire and him broke up she needed a new place to live. She moved in with the first person to take her, an alcohol friendly girl. She wasn’t exactly a people person, but her help meant a lot to Blaire. While she didn’t seem to care much about, well, anything, Blaire still appreciated her help. Even after Blaire got a job and her own apartment she kept in touch with her friend, and she was the first to tell her about the scholarship to UNO she got for fashion.
