PERSONALITY:Remy has always been a really sweet kid – she was brought up to wear frilly dresses and ribbons in her hair, and to be very polite to all the neighbors. It just so happened that unlike with most kids, she stuck to being polite – making her one of the most posh children at New Orleans university, and certainly one of the only students who has good table manners and speaks perfect (almost regal) English. Remy is also absurdly and naturally nice – she’s the sort of girl who’ll help you out with your homework, lend you some lunch money, fix you up if you trip and graze your knee or come and sit with you if you’re on your own. Naturally optimistic, she sees the best in anyone - and is willing to brush off personal insult or even violence if she thinks someone needs a hand. In all honesty, her sweetness is a little naïve. Her belief in the goodness of human nature is often unfounded, and people can quite frequently take advantage of her willingness to help. Without someone to look after her and let her know when someone is lying to her, Remy is quite capable of working herself into the ground for people who really don’t deserve her care and attention. Actually, Remy is quite dependant on others in a lot of ways – without people to look out for her, she’s perfectly capable of burning a house down, slicing her fingers off or anything else absurd and painful. She can be… a little out of touch with the real world. Remy is a daydreamer, and can zone out at the most inopportune moments – sometimes missing whole lectures while she thinks about how cool it would be is she were a cloud or a beetle. If someone doesn’t watch out for her, she is liable to forget to put on a coat in a snowstorm, or turn off the stove. Almost every morning she drinks cold coffee because she forgets to turn on the kettle. It sometimes feels as though she is trying to live up to her childish appearance.
But Remy isn’t all dreamy. She is a smart girl, and knows a lot more than she lets on to. She’s almost a genius, and actually understands particle physics. And she’s observant, always picking up on subtexts in conversations and any scandal going on behind the scenes. It just so happens that she doesn’t like to boast about it, and sometimes people under-estimate her. She’s also a keen conversationalist, with one hell of a sense of humor and a laugh that lights up a room. Remy is also far from afraid to live life on the edge. People seem to assume she’d be a goody two shoes, but Remy loves to drink smoke and delve into the recreational use of some less legal substances. A lot of people are shocked by how off the wall she can be out of school hours, and she knows it. She’s also quite a bitch to those rare people who manage to get on her bad side – the sort of enemy to spread cruel rumors, sabotage your home-work or ‘accidentally’ throw her coffee all over someone.

MOTHER: Jessica Clark, forty-four, lawyer.
FATHER: Elijah Clark, forty-six, businessman.
SIBLINGS: None.
OTHER IMPORTANT PEOPLE: None.
ORIGIN: New Orleans.
HISTORY:A New Orleans girl born and bred, Remy’s lived here her whole life - in a huge white-washed mansion. Her parents were both the career-centered sort of people who make an awful lot of money but not an awful lot of friends, and whose homes were always clean and white and modern, but also cold and empty and intimidating. Having a daughter was, to them, much like having an expensive new accessory. They paid her little attention except when trying to show her off in social situation – leaving her for the rest of the time with her clichéd French nanny and sending her a new toy from time to time. Remy never really had any attachment to her parents – they were more like visitors than family. But she was fairly unbothered by their absence, entertaining herself instead with toy ponies and day dreams. Under strict instructions from the Clark parents, the French nanny taught Remy all those things a lady should know – needle-point, piano, etiquette. Remy picked them all up fast, and eventually the nanny decided to give her ward a real education, teaching her chemistry and mathematics and physics. As it turned out, the child was fabulous academically, and, years later, she set her heart on studying the sciences at the University of New Orleans.
The absentee parents, however, disagreed. Their perfect, polished little girl had been brought up to be a perfect trophy wife, not a scientist. It was out of the question. After a lifetime of indifference towards her parents, this was the final straw, sparking a sudden hatred from Remy for her family. But the Clark parents simply would not budge, and eventually the compromise of Music and Classics was reached. It wasn’t Science, but it was certainly better than no University at all. So when the time came, Remy left – choosing to stay in the university dorm rather than the white-washed childhood prison. After that she also split herself from her parents entirely, choosing to live off money earnt through hard work rather than hand-outs from her parents. Since then Remy has flourished, growing into a beautiful and confident young woman.
