PERSONALITY:Alex is a quiet, determined, hard-working person with a pleasant personality, and she is a bit of a perfectionist. People around her think she has everything going for her in life.
Most people are unaware that although she seems nice, she won’t trust many people with her personal life. She is unforgiving when someone breaks her trust. She is very secretive even though she seems open and honest with people she meets. Alex is very independent and resilient and usually refuses to accept help from people unless it is from someone she can trust.
Alex also has an addictive personality which is very much hidden from her working life in the hospital and others around her. When she encounters something or someone that makes her feel really good she will obsess over the thing or person constantly. She has a substance use disorder, particularly to alcohol and Valium and is a sex addict. When the thing or person no longer pleases her she will avoid it. To potential lovers, she appears madly in love with them and will do anything to make the other person happy. Whether she can maintain a relationship depends on whether the person continues brings her pleasure over time.

MOTHER: Jennifer, 48, formerly a receptionist, now deceased
FATHER: Henry, 50, formerly an accountant, now deceased
SIBLINGS: Jonathon, 25, chef
OTHER IMPORTANT PEOPLE: Amber May Harrison, 24, musician/student, ex-girlfriend
ORIGIN: Chicago
HISTORY:Alex was born in Chicago to Jennifer and Henry. Her parents weren’t filthy rich but they were able to afford everything that she and her brother Jonathon needed. Alex had a happy childhood with very little drama. She got along very well with her older brother. From a very young age, Alex learned many different forms of martial arts. During her elementary schooling she learned how to play the piano and did this until the end of high school. She was very active and happy as a child and in her early teenage years. She was always a top performer academically and eventually transferred to a private school which offered her a scholarship.
When she moved to this private school she was still at the top of the class, and remained very active in school activities. Trouble didn’t start for her until she was 16 when she met someone at school. She expected that her heart would one day belong to a man, but that wasn’t the case when she met Amber while she was playing a few tunes on the piano after school one day. As Alex started to learn more about Amber, she fell deeply in love with her and dismissed the possibility of ever being with a man. Afraid of being expelled from school, she and Amber kept their relationship hidden during school hours and would see each other after school for “study time”.
When they had been dating quite some time, Alex waited until she had finished high school to come out to her parents in case her parents would disown her. Holding Amber’s hand, she told her parents they were dating on the day her final exam finished. To her surprise, Jennifer and Henry were very supportive. Even her brother Jonathon approved. However, her extended family was against the idea of Alex being with a woman and tried everything they could to convince Alex’s parents to split them up. That summer seemed like a period of success for Alex as she came out to her parents and got an acceptance letter from the university to study medicine.
At the night of her graduation, her parents took her and her brother out for a family graduation dinner. On the way home, a drunken truck driver ran into the side of their car, killing both her parents and leaving her and her brother fighting for their life. Since her and her brother at the time were too young to handle finances, their parents money (which was intended to go towards college fees) and property went to her aunt who despised Alex. Her aunt refused to help Alex until she swore to never be with a woman again. Even though her brother offered to help her in any way he could with finances (despite not being able to return to work immediately), she had to take matters into her own hands, knowing that she may have to move out of home. To achieve this she became a cage fighter to earn as much money as she could before starting medicine school, despite the fact that she wasn’t fully recovered from the car accident. Since the accident and starting cage fighting, Alex became a very different person, causing her and Amber to break up. Since their break up, Alex would still think about Amber when she could (although she has had many short-term relationships since then) and longed for the day when she would see her again.

SAMPLE:Zoey rushed out of the ambulance with her gear in hand.
"Step aside!" she yelled at the bystanders as she bolted towards the car wreck.
"My day off and I get called into something that's most likely a drink-driving thing...again" she thought to herself as she surveyed the scene.
Fortunately, no one was severely injured. Out of the car a few drunk teens stumbled out but it was nothing too serious. While Zoey was in the middle of patching up one of the victims, her colleague called her over to the steps at the entrance of a nearby hall. She followed her colleague.
At the steps she noticed a woman had collapsed. Nearing the steps, she saw a woman clutching her ankle in pain.
"Thank goodness," she thought to herself when she saw the woman was still conscious despite looking a little intoxicated. Either way, Zoey knew she couldn't get her up by herself. Zoey reassured the woman and assisted her to sit on the step, with the help of her colleague. Suddenly, something clicked in her mind.
"Have I met her before from somewhere?" she asked herself as she inspected the young woman sitting in front of her.
Her mind raced at a million miles per hour as she tried to remember who this woman was.
"Thanks. I should be fine from here. I'll fix her up and then I'll go back to help you at the crash," she told her colleague who promptly returned to the scene of the accident.
Zoey introduced herself and inspected the woman's ankle after hearing what had happened at the steps. The adrenaline pulsated through her and it wasn't because there were two incidents happening for the emergency team at the same time. Zoey remembered this woman from somewhere. She started to feel a little emotional, perhaps because it was someone she once knew very well. She was being haunted by her past and having a hectic night at work. Things started to become a little too much for Zoey but for now she had to keep her cool, even though she was secretly losing her mind.
She palpated the ankle, noticing that it was painful and slightly swollen. However, it wasn't as bad as the average sprained ankle she would normally come across.
