Yes, her education was important to her. And she loved the fact that he thought about her first and not about what he wanted. It was one of those moments where she hated, once again, that she was so much younger than him. She understood why Austin had wanted to wait though, with everything that his mother had been through, he didn’t want that to happen to her. But Delilah had had many conversations with his mother, about several topics including this one and his mother had never minded what had happened. She loved Austin and she would sacrifice her own life for him if she would have to. And who could better understand that than Delilah? Because she felt exactly the same way about her now fiancé. There was nothing that she wouldn’t do for him and he knew that, which was probably another reason why he had decided to wait because he knew that Delilah would have said yes no matter what. But she was more than ecstatic that he had asked her now and she barely know how to show how happy she was. She felt like her smile was going to rip off her face and that her heart was about to explode because it was trying to beat so fast in her chest. She felt like it was trying to escape so that it would just flutter around the room and be free. No one had ever made her happier than Austin made her and she loved him for that, and she wanted him to know that. She figured that he knew, but that didn’t mean that she didn’t still want to tell him, just to be sure and safe and to make sure that he never doubted it.
“You could never stand in the way of something that I want, Austin,” she told him softly, her fingers tracing gently over his face and as always just mesmerized at how perfect he was, how handsome his features were. She had no idea how she had been able to catch his attention but she sure as hell was happy that she did. Without him she would have never been this happy and ever losing him scared her more than anything else in her life. “You are everything that I want, everything that I need,” she continued softly, her voice never raising above the volume of a mere whisper. Even though there was no one there she still spoke as if she wanted to be sure that he was the only one that could hear the things that she had to say to him. As if she was telling him a big secret even though it was something that everyone knew. It was one of the first things that people learned about Delilah; she was utterly and completely in love with Austin Rico.
All her friends knew, and she was sure that after this anyone that was able to listen for about a few seconds she would inform them that he had asked her to marry him, that they were going to get married and then soon she would be Mrs Austin Rico. Just thinking about it gave her even more butterflies in her stomach and it would have made her smile widen if it wasn’t already completely spread over her entire face. The chuckle that sounded from him was enough to make her laugh again. She had always loved the sound of his chuckle, laugh of his voice actually. She remembered the first time that she had heard him laugh, the first time that she had seen his smile. It was an absolutely mesmerizing moment and she could recall it so clearly that it was almost scary. But for some reason she could recall so many moments with him, they were all branded so perfectly onto her memory. And yet, when she saw him after being away from him for a while he would always surprise her and she always realized that her imagination wasn’t enough to capture his perfection. The real thing was always better.
With his lips against her she could get lost in the moment completely and a soft hum sounded from her throat as he returned her kiss. Delilah found herself hated the space between them and she just wanted him so much closer than he was now. The way they were positioned, her still sitting on the couch and him still in front of it, she wasn’t able to press herself against him and that was what she wanted right now. Without thinking about it and with her lips still pressed against his she moved off of the couch, resting her knees on the ground in front of him and raising herself up a bit so that she could get closer to him, just a little bit. It still wasn’t perfect but it got her closer to him and that was all that mattered to her at that moment. Delilah smiled widely against his lips and resting her hands on his neck, her thumbs resting against his jaw as she tilted her head slightly to press her lips more firmly against his.
